Why was Anne Boleyn famous?
Anne Boleyn was famous as the woman who infatuated King Henry VIII of England who she married and gave birth to his daughter who became Queen Elizabeth I of England. Love turned to hate and Queen Anne was beheaded for the false charges of adultery, incest and treason

March 1: The first documented appearance of Anne Boleyn at the English Court when she was listed amongst the players in a masque

Meets and falls in love with Henry Percy a nobleman who served in Cardinal Wolsey's retinue. The couple become betrothed but are split up by Cardinal Wolsey on the orders of King Henry VIII who wants Anne for himself
 
     
  1525Henry VIII has a short affair with Mary Boleyn, the sister of Anne 
     
  1526March 4: Mary gives birth to a son, called Henry, although the baby is not acknowledged by the king

During this year King Henry VIII becomes obsessed with Anne Boleyn
 
     
  1527It becomes publicly known that King Henry is seeking a divorce from Queen Catherine of Aragon. Wolsey is tasked with obtaining a divorce from the Pope 
     
  1529Henry VIII dismisses Cardinal Thomas Wolsey following his failure to obtain the divorce 
     
  1532September 1: Anne created Marchioness of Pembroke and accompanies Henry VIII on a State visit to Calais 
     
  1532Becomes pregnant 
     
  1533Thomas Cranmer grants the annulment of the marriage between Queen Catharine of Aragon and King Henry VIII bypassing the Pope

January 25: King Henry VIII marries Anne and is excommunicated by Pope Clement VII

May 29: The coronation of the new Queen

September 7: Gives birth to the daughter of King Henry VIII who later becomes Queen Elizabeth I
 
     
  1534Act of Supremacy: Henry VIII is declared Supreme Head of the Church of England

March 23: Parliament passes Act of Succession which decrees that only the children of King Henry VIII's marriage to Anne Boleyn are his lawful heirs

July: Gives birth to a stillborn son
 
     
  1535Becomes pregnant again but King Henry VIII has already turned his attention to Jane Seymour a lady in waiting 
     
  1536January 7:  Catherine of Aragon dies at Kimbolton Castle

January 29: Queen Anne miscarries

May 2: Queen Anne is arrested and taken to the Tower of London

May 15: Anne is tried for treason, adultery and incest in the Great Hall of the Tower of London

George Boleyn, Mark Smeaton, Sir Francis Weston, William Brereton and Sir Henry Norris are executed for treason by way of adultery with the Queen

May 19: Queen Anne is executed by beheading on Tower Green and buried in an unmarked grave in the Chapel of St. Peter ad Vincula

May 30: King Henry VIII marries Jane Seymour
